Personality Disorder Treatment at Wings Recovery
Compassionate, Comprehensive Care for Complex Mental Health Needs
Living with a personality disorder can feel overwhelming, isolating, and at times, deeply misunderstood. At Wings Recovery, we specialize in supporting individuals struggling with complex emotional and relational patterns—offering an evidence-based, trauma-focused approach to healing that treats the whole person, not just a diagnosis.
Whether you’re living with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), Avoidant Personality Disorder, or another cluster of symptoms, we provide a path forward rooted in safety, self-understanding, and long-term transformation.
What Are Personality Disorders?
Personality disorders are long-standing patterns of thinking, feeling, behaving, and relating to others that cause significant distress or challenges in daily life. These patterns often stem from early trauma, attachment disruptions, and nervous system dysregulation—making healing complex but absolutely possible.
Common personality disorders we treat include:
- Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
- Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)
- Avoidant Personality Disorder
- Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder
- Dependent Personality Disorder
- Schizotypal and Paranoid Personality Disorders
Symptoms may include unstable relationships, emotional dysregulation, identity confusion, chronic emptiness, intense fears of abandonment, and difficulty trusting others. At Wings, we understand that beneath these symptoms is a person longing for connection, healing, and peace.
How Wings Recovery Treats Personality Disorders
At Wings Recovery, we take a holistic, integrative approach that meets clients with both clinical expertise and genuine compassion. We know that healing personality disorders requires more than symptom management—it requires rebuilding a relationship with the self and learning how to feel safe in connection with others.
Our Treatment Approach Includes:
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
A cornerstone of our treatment for personality disorders, DBT teaches essential skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. - EMDR & Trauma Processing
Many individuals with personality disorders have histories of trauma. We use EMDR and other trauma-focused modalities to help reprocess painful memories and reduce emotional reactivity. - Attachment-Based & Relational Therapy
Many symptoms stem from attachment wounds. We help clients build secure connections and explore relational dynamics in a safe, contained environment. - Somatic and Body-Based Therapies
Trauma lives in the body. Through yoga, breathwork, and somatic experiencing, we help clients regulate their nervous systems and reconnect with their physical selves. - Psychoeducation & Skills Training
Clients gain insight into how personality structures form, how they affect behavior, and how to practice new, healthier ways of responding.
A Safe, Structured Healing Environment
Wings Recovery offers treatment through our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). Each level of care includes:
- Individual therapy with a licensed clinician
- Group therapy in small, supportive cohorts
- Psychiatric evaluation and medication support (as needed)
- Psychoeducation
- Gender-specific programming to create safe, focused spaces
- A trauma-focused, nonjudgmental atmosphere rooted in respect and dignity
