At Wings, our therapists are trained in the latest, most effective research-based therapies including CBT, DBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness-based therapies. Our therapists work with you to determine which of these will be most helpful.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT): Our thoughts influence our emotions, our words, our actions, and our destiny. In CBT, you learn to become more aware of your thoughts and transform unhelpful ways of thinking to more positive and effective ones.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Originally developed as a treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder, DBT teaches you skills to help you manage your emotions and deal with them effectively.
Mindfulness: Growing from its roots in ancient spiritual traditions, mindfulness has been clinically proven to help with anxiety, depression, and other mental health problems, as well as helping you reduce stress.
Trauma Treatment That Works
EMDR: Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is the breakthrough therapy that helps your brain reprocess traumatic memories. Studies show that it can provide rapid relief from the effects of a wide range of traumatic experiences.
IFS: Internal Family Systems is another evidence-based trauma therapy that works with your often-conflicted internal “parts” and helps restore the peace and clarity that come from being in touch with your Core Self.
Not all therapists have the specialized training necessary to treat trauma. Unlike many other treatment centers, at Wings all of our patients have the option of working with a highly trained trauma therapist up to twice per week, in addition to having two sessions per week with your primary therapist.
Holistic Therapy for Mental Health
Women today are increasingly looking toward holistic therapies to enhance and complement more traditional approaches to mental health. At Wings, we are proud to offer a wide variety of holistic therapies, including:
- Mindfulness meditation (including trips to a nearby meditation garden)
