Wings Recovery is taking the following precautions to keep our clients and staff safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Staff Policies:
- All staff are required to wash their hands upon entering the facility and upon entering and exiting a client’s room. Hand washing must be done in a bathroom and not the kitchen sink.
- All staff are required to take their temperature upon arriving at the facility and if it is over 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit they are required to leave the facility immediately and report this information to Amanda Schilling, LVN and Katy Hoslar, COO. All temperatures are taken and logged upon entry into the facility. Due to the shortage of probe covers please re-use your probe cover and store in a plastic bag. Please sanitize your probe cover before and after each use with an alcohol swab.
- All staff are required to wear a face mask while in the facility. Face masks can be re-used if they are not soiled. Soiled means that they have coughed or sneezed into their mask or someone else has coughed or sneezed on them.
- If a staff member or client leaves the facility they are required to wear a mask.
- Staff are not allowed to report to work if they are sick. Staff are not required to give management a doctors note.
- If staff have symptoms resembling COVID-19 they are encouraged to consider COVID-19 testing and as indicated by their medical doctor. Staff will also communicate their symptoms with Amanda Schilling and Katy Hoslar.
- If a staff member tests positive for COVID-19 they are not allowed to return to work for 14 days after their symptoms have cleared without the use of medications.
- Staff are required to wash their hand frequently with warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds.
- All staff whose job duties allows them to work remotely are now stationed off-site in order to reduce unnecessary potential exposure.
- Program Director provides weekly hand washing tutorial showing proper hand washing techniques and coughing and sneezing etiquette to staff and clients.
Sanitation Policies:
- Wings has a dedicated staff person on site to sanitize the facility every 2 hours. Sanitation procedures include: disinfecting all surfaces in common areas, bedrooms, office, bathrooms and all door knobs and cabinet handles. This staff person also ensures clients are practicing appropriate daily hygiene. Remote controls and computers are also sanitized before and after every group.
- Any item that is brought into the facility should be wiped down with a disinfectant wipe. Staff will wear a mask and gloves while disinfecting items.
- Trash is taken out on a regular basis using latex gloves.
- If a staff member or client leaves the facility they are required to wear a mask.
- Laundry facilities are sanitized after each use.
- The lint trap is cleaned after each use.
Visitor Policies:
Wings does not allow visitors onsite unless they are essential for the operations of the facility. Essential visitors are required to sign in and answer the following questions:
- Are you experiencing and cold or flu symptoms, including a fever?
- Have you been near someone who was sick with COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
- Have you traveled within the last 14 days?
- Have you been in close contact with someone who has traveled within the last 14 days?
New Admission Policies:
- All new clients are screened by our nurse prior to admission of possible COVID symptoms and exposure.
- All new clients have their temperature taken immediately upon arrival and prior to entering the facility.
Re-Admission Policies:
- Clients that have left the facility for an extended period of time due to a psychiatric hospitalization are screened by our nurse prior to re-admission of possible COVID symptoms and exposure.
- All re-admitting clients have their temperature taken immediately upon arrival and prior to entering the facility.
Client Policies:
- All clients are required to sign an agreement regarding required hygiene practices to ensure they are protecting themselves and others.
- Clients are also required to sign a Personal Responsibility agreement in Response to COVID-19.
- All offsite activities have been cancelled until further notice.
- All clients are required to re-schedule all non-essential medical visits.
- If a client needs to leave the facility for an essential medical visit a staff member will accompany them and they are both required to wear a face mask and gloves.
- All clients have their temperatures taken daily and are documented.
- Clients are asked to stagger their meals so that they are sitting 6 feet away from one another. No more than 2 people at a time are allowed to sit at the dinner table.
- Clients are encouraged to practice social distancing. For example, clients should not have physical contact with one another including shaking hands or hugging each other.
- Clients should not enter others rooms. If clients need to enter another client’s room for a therapy session they must wash their hands prior to entering the room.
Thanks,

When I came to wings, I firmly believed I was worthless, I really didn't care to live, and leaning in Opiods as my coping skills seem like the right thing to do. Once I started working with therapists and doctor, I soon stopped taking opiods, muscle relaxers and sleeping pills. For the first time I am feeling life I am to cope with life, learning to love myself.

I Love the gathering of individuals at Wings. Love every single one of them, and I love myself as well. Now I am the person capable of saying these statements. That is the true testimonial of the unique experience and opportunity with Wings. The broken woman walking in their door, she no longer defines me, she no longer rules me, she no longer is me. Her greatest was finding Wings, where she found me, I am in Peace.
Bridget
In my experience, Wings gas a multi-faceted approach to treatment with providing the client-centered environment to create a small supportive community through a bond of sisterhood created through the women I met in the program, very individualized and personalized treatment groups focused on healing from trauma and its long lasting impacts.

Today is bittersweet. I am excited to go home and the same time my heart hurts because I am leaving you my Wings Family. I walked in the door unsure that I could put the shattered pieces of my life back together. You patiently supported and encouraged taught 60 days later I am ready to see my future in a way I thought IMPOSSIBLE. Stay In touch, I Love Each of you and never give up on yourselves.
